CT/MRI Engineer

Position Overview

The CT/MRI Engineer installs, inspects, troubleshoots, repairs, calibrates, and verifies the performance of assigned CT/MRI medical equipment. In depth knowledge of GE CT/MRI Systems.

Specific Responsibilities:
•     Responsible for creating and maintaining excellent customer relationships.
•     Independently performs general troubleshooting and repairs to the circuit board level.
•     Complete all necessary documentation of activities involving the servicing of CT/MRI equipment in accordance with the Medical Equipment Management Plan, Regulatory Agencies, and manufacturer requirements.
•     Serves as a resource for the proper operation and maintenance of clinical equipment.
•     Confers with manufacturer’s representatives and equipment operators to resolve equipment related problems.
•     Provide emergency on-call responsibilities.
•     Research and initiate orders for repair parts, working within established budget parameters.
•     Conducts and compiles Quality Assurance records and reports necessary for compliance with specifications and policies.
•     Perform other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience:

Associates degree (A. A.) or equivalent (from two-year college or technical school)

7+ years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Prior OEM experience (e.g. GE, Phillips, Siemens, Toshiba)

Expertise in the repair and service of CT/MR, medical imaging.

OEM experience required.

Excellent customer service and communicaton skills are required.

BMET II

Position Overview

The BMET II is responsible for repairing and administering preventive maintenance (PM), calibration, and electrical safety testing (EST) on biomedical equipment. Involved in all areas of biomedical technology, including monitoring work order requests, completing repairs, new equipment inspections, PM’s, EST, documenting all service activities, compiling and distributing reports such as missing equipment lists, and updating asset management software while maintaining data integrity.

Essential Job Functions
•     Perform tasks associated with the installation, maintenance, repair, and assembly of clinical equipment involving basic knowledge and abilities associated with electronics, pneumatics, and mechanical processes.
•     Participates in hazard identification and medical device reporting procedures to help ensure that the patient care environment is safe.
•     Achieves performance measures associated the maintenance of clinical equipment, productivity, customer satisfaction, and other departmental performance standards.
•     Complete all necessary documentation of activities involving the servicing of clinical equipment in accordance with the Medical Equipment Management Plan, Regulatory Agencies, and manufacturer requirements.
•     Serves as a resource for the proper operation and maintenance of clinical equipment. Instructs customer personnel on safe equipment operation when necessary.
•     Performs routine rounding throughout the Medical Facility and provides consistent feedback to user departments on the status of repairs and other maintenance activities.
•     Communicates routinely with supervisory personnel on the status of equipment repair and maintenance activities along with immediately reporting all patient/equipment operator safety issues.
•     Particpates, where appropriate, in the on-call responsibilities of the department and responds appropriately to after hours or urgent work request.
Education and Experience
•     High School Diploma required; Associates Degree in Electronics/Biomedical Equipment Technology or equivalent technical training preferred.
•     Exceptional customer service skills are required.
•     A minimum of five (5) year's experience in the Biomedical Equipment field.
•     Must have a working knowledge of anatomy and physiology and how it relates to the diagnostic, therapeutic, and monitoring characteristics of clinical equipment.

BMET I

Responsible for repairing and administering preventive maintenance (PM), calibration, and electrical safety testing (EST) for biomedical equipment.

•     Completes all necessary record keeping and documentation for repairs and preventative maintenance

Sr. BMET

The Sr. BMET functions as the leader of the Biomedical Engineering department. Responsible for all aspects of on-site account management and supervision of all service personnel assigned to him/her. Performs incoming inspections, equipment repair, calibration, and preventive maintenance (PM) on a variety of clinical equipment.

Essential Job Functions
•     Responsible for creating and maintaining excellent customer relationships.
•     Inspects, troubleshoots, and repairs a wide variety of electronic and electro-mechanical medical devices including but not limited to physiologic monitors, infusion devices, defibrillators, ESUs, and other common patient care devices.
•     Familiar with the setup and application of basic test equipment (electrical safety analyzer, digital multi-meter, patient simulator etc.)
•     Perform electrical safety testing and performance assurance inspections on a wide variety of medical devices utilizing appropriate test equipment and maintenance procedures.
•     Evaluates equipment problems and implements appropriate repairs with minimum supervision, maintaining effective customer relations and customer protocol at all times.
•     Participates in hazard identification and medical device reporting procedures to help ensure that the patient care environment is safe.
•     Assist in the evaluation of new equipment as required and make recommendations pertaining to its electrical and functional conformance to industry standards.
•     Provide technical training to other Masterplan BMET's in areas such as: equipment operation and checkout, repairs, preventative maintenance, quality assurance practices, procedures, and documentation.

Qualifications
1. Education
•     High School Diploma/GED is required; Associates Degree in Electronics or Biomedical Equipment Technology or equivalent technical training preferred.

3. Experience

Imaging Director

Responsible for leading the diagnostic imaging field service engineer team in assigned territory. The Imaging Director will be responsible for all business aspects of his/her zone. This includes developing high levels of customer satisfaction in conjunction with their clinical engineering zone counterparts, growing and managing the customer base, and control and management of operating expenses. Recruiting and growing a strong team of service engineers to fulfill the current and future mission of the imaging business is fundamental. Triaging of Outside Purchased Services is critical through a thorough attention to detail. This is a position for creative, self-starters with the ability to embrace a vision, articulate it in their own words and drive it through to fruition. Must have strong service management and P&L management experience. Must have excellent communication, time management and leadership skills. Must have knowledge of Diagnostic Imaging business. Multi vendor ISO service delivery experience as well as training in strategic thinking, six sigma (statistical analysis) a plus. Position directly reports to the Vice President and General Manager of Imaging Services. Position based in Atlanta Vicinity. Moderate to heavy travel.

Radiology Specialist

Position Overview

Utilizes specialized knowledge and certification in multiple Diagnostic Imaging modalities to conduct tests, repairs, calibrations, inspections and perform preventive maintenance checks on Diagnostic Imaging and related equipment used in medical diagnosis or therapy. Demonstrates a working knowledge of, and ability to use the required test equipment, and have the electronic and mechanical knowledge and skills, including the ability to interpret and effectively utilize service manuals, schematics and other applicable service information, required to perform and document planned maintenance and repair of the diagnostic imaging equipment and systems, as assigned, in accordance with established company procedures.

•     Perform planned preventive maintenance, calibrations where certification may be required, and electrical safety inspections on imaging and related equipment in compliance with established standards.
•     Perform major repairs by replacing defective components, readjust components to manufacturer’s specifications using appropriate tools and measuring instruments. May require certification in order to complete repairs.
•     Confers with manufacturer’s representatives and equipment operators to resolve equipment related problems.
•     Provide emergency on-call responsibilities.
•     Research and initiate orders for repair parts, working within established budget parameters.
•     Conducts and compiles Quality Assurance records and reports necessary for compliance with specifications and policies.

BMET III - Sterilization Specialist

Properly evaluate, install, diagnose, perform repair, calibration and planned maintenance (PM) on biomedical equipment. Functions as primary technician for all sterilization equipment.

Involved in all areas of biomedical technology, including monitoring work order requests, completing repairs, new equipment inspections, PM’s, EST, documenting all service activities, compiling and distributing reports such as missing equipment lists, and updating asset management software while maintaining data integrity. Training on ventilators, is a definitive plus for this position.
